Welcome Back and Updates

14 February 2025

Welcome Back!

We would like to welcome you all back and a new start for 2025! This is just a small update of the changes we are doing throughout the Park.

As you are aware the sewage plant has been one of the largest projects we have undertaken for some time and thank you to all involved this has now been completed as you have guessed!

However, there is one particular improvement that we are very excited about and that warrants an early mention in its own right.
The Golf Course, which has existed in its current set-up since the late 1980s is changing shape yet again. The current 18 holes will be changed to a 9 holes facility, which is how the Course originally started out nearly 50 years ago. This Golf Facility will be open to all Park Members, in the same way as the Swimming Pool or Tennis Courts, (with due deference to Golf etiquette!), and booked with an online booking system.

The Greens team will become part of Jason’s Park team which will look after all our facilities going forward. Mark Sparrow, the Golf Pro, has agreed to stay on with his highly successful Swing Room. Mark will advise on reconfiguring the course and together we plan to explore the concept of Express Golf here at the Lakes.

The Holiday Park has been a long-term participant in the Wyre Forest Landscape Partnership, dedicated to improving the ecology of the Wyre Forest area, and has already planted significant numbers of young trees.

We are very excited that going forward, the unused 9 golf holes will be transformed through re-wilding into a wildflower rich area, with further tree planting through our participation in future environmental schemes. These areas will also be accessible to all Park Members through new nature trails connecting to the Worcestershire Way, winding their way through the new planting, suitable for dog walkers and kids alike.

We are very pleased to be able to both increase the facilities available to all Park Members and to participate in important environmental schemes in the Wyre Forest. The new arrangements will start with the new Site Fee year in April and further details of our plans will be forthcoming in later newsletters before then.

We will be doing a Spring Newsletter and the normal site fee renewal letter will be winging its way to your shortly. We are looking to send these communications and all future communications via email. So, when you are next in the Park Office, please make sure we have the up to date email address for you.

Kind regards
Park Office
